Grottammare & Surroundings

Grottammare

Grottammare, nestled in the heart of the Riviera delle Palme, is a gem that combines natural beauty, thousand-year history and tradition. Its name, believed by many to derive from “Grotte a Mare,” appears in documents as far back as the 11th century, but the origins of the place are probably much older, as suggested by important archaeological findings related to the Picene civilization.

The historic center, nestled on the hill, still retains its medieval layout with winding streets, brick buildings, panoramic loggias and ancient towers. From here the view sweeps over one of the most enchanting stretches of the Adriatic. The Orange Theater, built at the end of the 18th century, dominates the village’s main square, evoking an atmosphere of times gone by.

Descending to the sea, one discovers an elegant and welcoming town, with avenues shaded by palm trees, Art Nouveau villas and long stretches of golden beach lapped by clear waters. Grottammare has been Blue Flag for years, thanks to the quality of its sea and services, and is beloved for its mild climate, which makes every season pleasant.

Called the Pearl of the Adriatic, it is an ideal destination for those seeking relaxation, culture and landscapes that look like paintings.

Le Marche

Le Marche is an enchanting land, suspended between sea and mountains, which preserves intact an authentic and discreet soul. It is a region to be experienced slowly, letting yourself be guided by the beauty of its landscapes and the richness of its traditions. Here every corner hides a surprise: from the golden beaches of the Riviera del Conero to the medieval villages clinging to the hills, passing through valleys cultivated with vineyards, olive trees, sunflowers and lavender.

There is no single itinerary for getting to know Le Marche, because each road offers unique views and new suggestions. Each hillside has its own wine, each town its own culinary specialty: from the catch of the Adriatic to the savory meats of the hinterland, from artisanal cured meats to the renowned truffles of the Sibillini Mountains. Marche’s rich and genuine cuisine is enhanced by fifteen DOC and five DOCG wines that tell, with every sip, the variety of the territory.

But Marche is not only nature and taste: it is also industriousness and creativity. As you travel the streets of craftsmanship and design, you will discover historic workshops, artistic laboratories and renowned fashion outlets. A journey between tradition and innovation, where shopping becomes a cultural experience. Le Marche is all this: a region to discover with curiosity and to love with passion.
